A new chapter begins. ❤️🖤

The 2026/27 season marks one of the biggest steps forward in recent years for Ilkley Rugby Club.

After one of the most successful seasons in the club's history, our senior teams heads into 2026/27 with a renewed structure, new coaching teams and an exciting vision for the future.

Our 1st XV will look to build on a fourth-place finish in Regional 1 North East under new Head Coach Charles Morgan, with Peter Erskine and Ben Magee announced as Joint Captains.

This season also sees the launch of the Ilkley Barbarians, our 2nd XV, playing in Counties 2 Yorkshire A under new Head Coach Collom Hanogue. More than a new name, the Barbarians represent a stronger, deeper and more competitive environment where players can develop and progress through the club.

The Ilkley Centurions also take the next step, entering Counties 4 Yorkshire A and the Yorkshire league structure, creating more meaningful opportunities for players to develop, return to the game and contribute to the club.

Alongside these changes, we'll continue investing in the experience for our players, members and supporters, with further improvements and new initiatives to be announced throughout the season.

Despite the Yorkshire drizzle, Stacks Field was once again packed with fantastic rugby, great entertainment and an incredible atmosphere as teams competed across three competitions.

Two players who epitomised the depth and spirit of the club throughout last season. Whether representing the 1st XV, 2nd XV or stepping up whenever needed, both consistently put the team first and delivered whenever called upon.

Ollie made important contributions across the campaign with his energy, work rate and willingness to take on whatever role was required, while Jack's commitment and reliability saw him play a key part across multiple sides throughout the season.

Both have shown exactly what it means to wear the black shirt, putting the club ahead of themselves and making valuable contributions wherever they were needed.

A familiar face around Stacks Field, Kieran returns to the club having previously represented the Dalesmen in the past. Comfortable in the centres and bringing plenty of experience, he already knows what it means to wear the black shirt.

During his previous spell at the club, Kieran featured in a number of big fixtures and was known for his defensive efforts and commitment, consistently putting his body on the line for the team.

It's always good to welcome former players home and we're excited to see Kieran back in black for the season ahead.

🔥 Sachi's will be serving up their hugely popular Indian street food and authentic Indian flavours. Based just down the road in Burley, they've built a reputation as one of the area's standout independent restaurants, blending traditional Indian recipes with modern twists.

🍸 Goodfellows Cocktails will be bringing one of Yorkshire's finest mobile bars to Ilkley, serving quality cocktails and keeping the good times flowing throughout the day.

🍦 Yorkshire Dales Ice Cream will be on hand with their award-winning farmhouse ice cream, perfect for a summer day on the touchline.

Plus we'll have the club BBQ fired up, 2 outdoor bars pouring all day and pizza available into the evening.

Two players who made a huge impact throughout the season in very different ways. Jack was a constant force up front all season, known for his carries, physicality and ability to break the line, crossing the whitewash in some big moments.

Callum brought energy and impact whenever called upon, consistently contributing with strong carries and work rate around the field, including key attacking involvement in victories over sides like Kendal.

Two quality lads who give everything for the shirt and massive players to have back at Stacks Field next season.

A versatile back capable of playing on the wing or in the centre, Toby joins the club after spells with Rossendale and Preston Grasshoppers, bringing plenty of pace and attacking threat to the squad.

Toby has built his game around getting over the gain line, creating line breaks and putting defences under pressure with explosive ball carrying and the ability to out-pace defenders.

We're excited to see Toby in black and look forward to seeing what he can bring to Stacks Field.

A familiar face to many around Stacks Field, Billy returns to the club after some time at Otley. A powerful loosehead prop, he brings plenty of experience, physicality and quality to the front row.

Known as a strong ball carrier, tough defender and accomplished scrummager, Billy will add serious strength to the pack and will be a huge asset both on and off the field. Just as importantly, he brings the character, intelligence and passion that help drive standards within a squad.
