Ilkley T5 Tournament - 7th April

We are delighted to announce the inaugural Ilkley RFC International T5s Tournament will be hosted on Sunday 7th April in aid of local children's charity, The Principle Trust at Stacks Field from 11:30 - 13:30.

They've shouted 'run forwards' and 'pass back' at you for long enough, now let's see if our coaches and parents can do it themselves!

From 11:30 to 13:30, Stacks Field will host 12 teams playing in two groups to whittle down the ultimate T5 Champions all organised by our fantastic Ilkley RFC Juniors Coaches.

Each game will be a 5 minute, 5-a-side tag match with Group stages, Semi-Finals, Playoffs and Final to crown the ultimate winner! Our teams and groups are:

Group 1

Earnshaw's Eagles - U12s

Vikings A - U10s

Ilkley Legends

Matt's Marauders - U7s

Hartley's Heros - U13

Ilkley Barbarians

Group 2

Pete Small U9s Coach and Tournament Organiser says "Rugby has been a major and positive part of many of our lives for so long, and you can see the joy it continues to bring through our young players on a Sunday morning. It is therefore great to put that to good use in supporting The Principle Trust and all the amazing work they do, whilst also realising that many of us aren't as fast or nimble as we once were".

To follow along with the action on the day with live scores and results, check out the Ilkley RFC Juniors T5 Tournament standings through the button below.

We're inviting all supporters down to the tournament to help support our players and to help raise money for the local children's charity the event is in aid of, The Principle Trust.

Our Chosen Charity: The Principle Trust

The Principle Trust Children's Charity provides free respite breaks to children across Yorkshire who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, have disabilities or additional needs, face life-limiting conditions, or have experienced poverty, trauma, or abuse.

The charity owns and operate six holiday homes; two in the Windermere and four in Blackpool. Their 100% donations policy ensures every penny raised from events and marketing directly benefits children and their families.

Their aims are to help to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and their families at a time when their circumstances may prove difficult or challenging. As well as this, they want all children to experience the fun and excitement of what a holiday or time away can bring. We know that a break away in a different environment can open up opportunities for children getting involved in different activities which can help to boost confidence and help with social interaction.

Additionally, families benefit from their ‘Food For Families’ initiative, with its aim in helping combat food poverty and the cost-of-living crisis, each family will receive a food hamper when they holiday with the charity, containing essentials food items for the whole family. Not only does this prevent the children from going hungry, but also the ability for families to afford to try exciting activities which they may not have had the chance to experience otherwise.

We're encouraging supporters to donate via the button below or support the charity with their children’s tombola, tuck shop and raffle (for the parents!) at the T5 Tournament.
